LIFE LESSONS FROM THE BOOK OF 2 KINGS 3:11




"But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may inquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water  on the hands of Elijah."


10 KEYS - THE MYSTERY OF SERVANTHOOD.

1.If you don't serve , how can you lead ? Timothy was the one who carried paul's bag. (2 Tim 4:13) He most have been a good servant to paul, for his name to be included the Epistles of Paul .2 Tim 1:1,2"
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,."2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ
Jesus our Lord."
2.The "ropes" of effective leadership is learnt during service .Everything comes with experience. Now see this ,even God had His own experience with the man He created ,that He drove man away from the
garden of Eden. Gen 3:24"So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."
3.You can never become an effective leader without humility . Jesus our great example was humble even to the point of death and we saw how God honored Him with a name above all name's . Phil 2:8,9 "And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:"
4.A potential leader can easily be noticed amongst other serving leaders .One of the King's servants noticed Elisha amongst the sons of the prophets . verse 11 "And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah."
5.A potential leader will always pursue spiritual things more than material things . Why? He knows the spiritual controls the physical . Elisha knew about what the anointing could do , so he deligently sought
after it .2 Kings 2:9 "And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me."
6.Your leader always has something to offer . Elisha saw what he wanted in the life of Elijah and he patiently endured the mockery that not even the son's of the prophets could discourage him. 2 Kings 2:5 " And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace."
7.Your background has nothing to do with effective leadership . "I am from the royal family" has nothing to do with effective leadership . what you don't know , you don't know . Is as simple as that !Elisha did
not allow his family background to influence him.Jesus said if you want to lead like me , than be ready to take up your cross and follow me .Luke 9:23 (NLT)"Then he said to the crowd, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me."
8.An effective leader is always focused on the service he/she has being called upon to serve.When you are focused on your job , people will notice you . David was in the wildreness taking care of the sheep , yet
somebody noticed . 1 Sam 16:18(NLT)"One of the servants said to Saul, "One of Jesse's sons from Bethlehem is a talented harp player. Not only that--he is a brave warrior, a man of war, and has good judgment. He is also a fine-looking young man, and the LORD is with him."
9.Before you receive , you give . Elisha gave his time and service to Elijah.And when it was time for him to receive back from Elijah , he was richly rewarded for his service , even though he placed a hard request ,
it was still granted . Scripture says it Luke 6:38 (NLT)"Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full--pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back." give your time ,service  etc to your leaders and when it is time , you will be richly rewarded for your service .
10. Elisha served until it was now his turn to be served . you don't give up in serving until it gets to your turn . Amen. 2 Kings 2:15"And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him,
they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him."

13 KEYS ABOUT THE POWER OF PATIENCE .


1. Patience - Is what God uses to prepare you for your breakthrough. Though we get weary at times ; but the truth is , it is for your best interest . He sees what you cannot see spiritually .Elisha prayed for the lord to open the eyes of gehazi in the book of 2 Kings 6:17(Amp)"Then Elisha prayed.Lord ,I pray you , open his eyes that he may see.And the Lord opened the young man's eyes , and he saw , and behold , the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."
2.Patience is what God uses to build you up "spiritually". You can't give a 10 year old , the latest Ferrari to take to school , he might get killed !. So God cannot bless you yet with the kind of wealth he has in mind for you .Lest you become too proud and rude. Spiritual maturity is important.Gal 4:1(Amp)"Now what I mean is that as long as the inheritor (heir) is a child and under age , he does not differ from a slave , although he is the master of all the estate."
3. God uses patience to reveal hidden secrets to you. The more you study the word ; the more he reveals secrets that will guide you in future .Psalm 25:14 " The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant."
4. Patience is what God uses in bringing out the best character in you. Lest you begin to embarrass him every where with a bad attitude.Heb 6:15 " And so , after he had patiently endured , he obtained the promise."
5. Patience is what God uses in refining and polishing his product (you). The world can't miss you , when he is through with you.Isaiah 60:3"And the Gentiles shall come to thy light , and Kings to the brightness of thy rising."
6. Patience is what God uses in birthing you into your new season. Is a step by step process in God's kingdom. Isaiah 28:10" For precept must be upon precept , precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little ,and there a little:"
7. You can't get anything from God ; when you are impatient. Why? God himself is patient , so you can't be different from your maker .Roms 15:5 "Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:"
8. When God is preparing a leader; one of the vital keys he teaches him, is patience. A good example was Moses . He had every opportunity to abandon the children of Israel in the wilderness when they complained and murmured against him , but he was patient with them and even asked God to show them mercy .Exodus 32:32 "Yet now , If thou wilt forgive their sin ; and If not ,blot me , I pray thee , out of thy book which thou hast written."
9. God uses patience to expose hidden enemies , who pretend to be friends.David said in Psalm 41:9 "Yea , mine own familiar friend , in whom I trusted , which did eat of my bread , hath lifted up his heel against me ."
10. God uses patience to build an uncommon faith that will give birth to an uncommon miracle.Abraham through patience and faith inherited the promise .Heb 6:12 says "That ye be not slothful , but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises."
11. God uses patience to build up your trust in Him. Isaiah 26:3 says "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace , whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee".
12. God uses patience to build up your prayer life. James 5:17 "Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are , and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain : and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months." Can only be achieved through patience.
13.God uses patience to teach you self control. Luke 21:19 says "In patience possess ye your souls."

PATIENCE IS LIKE A MAN WHO HAS SEEN HIS GLORIOUS END AND KEEPS PREPARING FOR HIS D DAY (DAY OF OPPORTUNITY) TO COME !JOB 14:14

LIFE LESSONS FROM THE BOOK OF PSALM 18:2 (Re-Edited)


“The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer , my God , my strength , in whom I will trust; my buckler , and the horn of my salvation , and my HIGH TOWER.” .Psalm 18:2.





10 KEYS ABOUT THE "ROCK" IN YOU .





1.The word in you is like a Rock , no matter how the waves ( challenges of life) hit at it, it only gets cleaner and cleaner. 2 Cor 4:17 (Amp) –scriptures says “ For our light , momentary affliction ( this slight distress of the passing hour )is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory { beyond all measure , excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations , a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease !}. Now that is what I call GOOD NEWS.
2. When God is your rock , you cannot be broken .why? because the one that lives in you is greater than any mountain or challenges . scriptures say in 1 John 4:4 –“ Ye are of God , little children , and have overcome them : because greater is he that is in you , than he that is in the world.”
3. When God is your rock, how can you fail, your failures is not an end in itself, for every believer, is just a stepping stone to greatness. We simply pick up the experience from it and dump Mr Failure on the ground for our  next move . Scripture says in Roms 8: 28-“ And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”kjv.
4.When the lord is your fortress – He fortifies you in such a way , that it becomes impossible for you to be labelled a failure in life. Why is that? Scripture says in Psalm 5:12 – “ For thou, Lord , wilt bless the righteous ; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.” All we need is just a touch of His favour.
5. When Jehovah Misgab (HIGH TOWER) becomes your deliverer one thing is certain, it doesn’t matter how many people are against you , it doesn’t matter your shame . The key is – YOU CAN BE REST ASSURED, YOUR DELIVERANCE WILL SURELY COME IN JESUS NAME,AMEN .obadiah 1: 17 – “ But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance , and there shall be holiness ; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” Kjv.
6. When He is your God , your storms are only a test of your faith .Listen , it might shake you , but your God cannot be shaken , you might feel that pain , but your God is your healer. Scripture says in Jer 32:27 – “ Behold , I am the lord , the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me ?.” Be encouraged is not over yet in Jesus name, amen.
7. When God is your strength , no matter the challenges of life , His strength will always come to keep you going . Daniel 10 :19 – “ And said,O man greatly beloved , fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong ,yea , be strong .And when he had spoken unto me , I was strengthen , and said , let my lord speak ; for thou hast strengthened me .”kjv. 
8. Stop worrying and TRUST GOD! This is the key – even when you don't understand it , believe Him for His word and Trust Him. Scripture says in the book of Psalm 62:8 – “Trust in him at all times; ye people , pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us.” Selah.
9. When God is your buckler , though you might get HIT severally with rejection and disappointment , it only bounces off . Why is that? Scripture says in Philippians 4:4 – Rejoice in the lord always and again I say, rejoice.” Key – joy is an expectation of good things to come . And there is no power that can defeat the spirit of joy. let no man steal your joy, is  one of the keys you need for your breakthrough . Isaiah 12:3 "Therefore with  joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation." joy is a force in the spirit realm.
10. Finally , when God becomes your HIGH TOWER - rejoice , because ,He sees not only you , what you passing through , but all your enemies gathered together. And you can be rest assured of one thing , He has a surprise for them. Scripture says in Isaiah 41:11 “ Behold all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded : they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish .”kjv.

IN YOUR DARKEST HOUR , GOD IS UP TO SOMETHING GREAT . TRUST HIM!

"And anyone who is not offended because of Me is blessed."


10 KEYS ON HOW TO OVERCOME OFFENCE




1. Faith - Is a shield and once you train your faith to become constant with the word this is the key - It is what is in your heart that will always speak whenever the spirit of offence comes .The word in you will
always speak . Amen. Jesus said in Mark 11:22 (Amp) Jesus replied, “Have faith in God [constantly]." Let your faith become constant with the word .
2. Joy - This weapon has always worked for me and will always work . lol..wow . Key - I found satan finds it very hard to attack joyful people . Where are you going to start from , when this guy is always joyful , giving God thanks always and just living happy . Not necessarily that he has all he needs yet , but he is just content with what he has and he is joyful and thankful .When your heart is full of joy , there willbe no room for you to take offence . Why ? Jesus spoke rightly when He said in scripture in the John 15:11(Amp)"I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing." once His joy is inside of you it will surely birth forth your own joy (expectation).
3.Thanksgiving - This how I see it , if you don't learn how to give God thanks when there is nothing , it will become hard for you to give Him thanks when you have. So appreciating God with joy when you have nothing is done deliberately to stop the offence when it looks like God is not forth coming with the answers you are expecting. It builds you up spiritually and it gives you more grace to continue as you wait patiently for Him to show up .David said something in the book of Psalm 40:1 (Msg)" I waited and waited and waited for God. At last he looked; finally he listened." He will surely answer , if you refuse to give up !No offence .
4.Peace - brings you into His rest ,in preparation for the good that is coming(Job 22:21 Amp). peace allows you to hear what God is saying concerning your issue . So when you know you need to hear what He is saying concerning it , you deliberately choose to hold your peace and no take offence , so He can speak to you . Joseph said to pharaoh in the book of Gens 41:16"And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace."
5.The Word -hosea 4:6a "my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" so the knowledge of what you are passing through is very important . why ? Prov 24:10 says "if you faint in the day of adversity(trials and temptations) you strength is small". meaning your knowledge of the truth in God's word is small . what truth ? Roms 8:28 , 1 peter 4:12,13 ; Gal 6:9 and many more are scriptures I use in waging war against the spirit of offence .So the key is build up your knowledge base in the word.1 Peter 2:2 "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:"
6.Trust - offence comes when your trust level is going down. so how do you build up your trust in Him . 1. Don't stop praying 2. study the word more .3 read good Christian books, it builds up your trust in God when you read of how other people escape their challenges through their faith and trust in God. Isaiah 26:4 "Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:" your strenght to overcome the spirit of offence is found when you put that trust in Him.
7.Prayer - Is one of the easiest way to escape offence .when we pray He comes to comfort us , when we pray He gives us the needed grace to endure the pain/shame , when we pray our hope is built up again because He is always there to comfort us .two examples from scripture . Jesus when faced with death on the cross prayed the more earnestly for grace and strength to face the challenge . (Luke 22:44 Amp) John the Baptist when faced with the same situation took offence (Luke 7:20)I share my testimony here ..I ve
learnt from my personal experience with God , that anytime I take offence I miss it . The very thing I am trusting God for won't come , because communicating with the one who would give it to me (God) becomes difficult . so I let go if I sincerely want Him to bless me with my heart desire. He means it when He says delight in me ..Psalm 37:4"Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."
8.Stay focused and don't waver . it is on its way .(Hab 2:3) . Here is my secret I found from the book of Heb 12:2 (ISV) I follow what Jesus did . what did He do ? He despised the shame and kept His focused on His reward that was ahead of Him . "fixing our attention on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of the faith, who, in view of the joy set before him, endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
9.See the blessing - If you focus on the offence , you would always be offended and bitter . but if you focus on the blessing you would always be joyful and expectant . Roms 8:25(Msg)"We, of course, don’t see what is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy."
10.Here is the final secret I love to share with you - The Holy Spirit is also known as the Spirit of Truth , meaning He is the Spirit called truth . If He tells you a thing or remind you of what God has promised you, He just told you the truth ! He cannot lie . So whatever the Holy Spirit says it is considered done . Once you can catch this revelation . offence can't stop you . Why? Because whatever He says will surely happen . period ! John 16:13(NIV)"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come."

"Blessed [joyful, spiritually favored] is he who does not take offense at Me.”





10 THINGS THAT "OFFENCE" CAN CAUSE IN YOUR LIFE .






1. Offence will steal your strength .The strength you ought to use to pray  to God , goes into what has offended you for the word sake and before you know it ,the strength to pray is gone because of offence . Luke 18:1 (Amp)" Now Jesus was telling the disciples a parable to make the point that at all
times they ought to pray and not give up and lose heart,."
2. When you are offended , what happens next is simple . you will begin to doubt if God can help rather than believe He can . your flesh will push you to think other-wise . Jesus told Peter in the book of Matt 14:31 (Amp)"Immediately Jesus extended His hand and caught him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you [a]doubt?”
3.Offence will always weaken your prayer life . It will stop its effectiveness. James 5:16 (Amp)"The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]."
4.Love is what allows faith to work , offence stops love from working , thereby hindering your faith from producing the necessary results . Gal 5:6 (Amp)"For [if we are] in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor
uncircumcision means anything, but only faith activated and expressed and working through love."
5.Offence will block the power in the word from manifesting .how? you are offended against the very word that produces the power , meaning ?? you are offended against God .simply put .John 1:1(Amp)" In the beginning [before all time] was the Word ([a]Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself."
6.Offence delays the harvest . How ? The word is what brings it .how do you draw out His promises from the bible with offence .lol...it will sound funny "any" . Isaiah 12:3(Amp)"Therefore with joy you will draw water From the springs of salvation."
7.Offence has the power of throwing any believer into the bondage of slavery . Gal 5:1(Amp)"It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed]."
8.When you are offended , you cannot hear what the lord is saying .No , no .Isaiah 30:15 (ERV)"The Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, says, “If you come back to me you will be saved. Only by remaining calm and trusting in me can you be strong. But you don’t want to do that."
9.Offence will stop you from acting on the word .James 1:22 (ERV)"Do what  God’s teaching says; don’t just listen and do nothing. When you only sit and listen, you are fooling yourselves."
10. Finally offence will stop you from giving the one who would rescue you thanks . 1 Thess 5:18(ERV)"Whatever happens, always be thankful. This is how God wants you to live in Christ Jesus."



Prayer : Father deliver me from the spirit of offence in the name of Jesus and give me the grace to listen to you in Jesus name , Amen.

" And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise."




10 SECRETS BEHIND YOUR MOCKERY OR SHAME



1. if they don't laugh at you now , how can God make you? Even Jesus our Master was laughed to scorn (painful laughter ).but God turned that laughter into His testimony . Luke 21:13 says "And it shall turn to you for a testimony ". Amen.
2.If they don't laugh at you , how can God "celebrate" you ? What story will you have to share ? I remember years ago when I use to "trek" some distance to church every sunday , how my friends will drive pass in their cars, pretending not to see me. lol, wow.. thank God I passed the test .! glory to God. Amen. John 16:22 "And ye now therefore have sorrow : but I will see you again ,and your heart shall rejoice , and your joy no man taketh from you ."
3.Your testimony is hidden inside their laughter; so if you desire to see it , you have to be determined ,resolute, steadfast and keep your focus like Jesus did. Jesus was never moved by his mockers because He saw the joy ahead of Him . Don't be moved by it .Amen. Scripture says in the book of 1 Cor 15:58 " Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." Pay day is coming .God is not a task master! Amen.
4.When God wants to perform a great miracle in your life , he allows your enemies to go ahead of you first , while He prepares you behind the scenes for a major "breakthrough" in that area of your shame, everyone thought , it wasn't going to happen. Scripture says "But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first." Matt 19:30. I drop you a hint . Have you seen the new luxury jets yet ? or a diamond coin that is worth not trillions of dollars but Zillions. It might sound crazy to you . But is it hard for God ? lol .hmm Jer 32:27 ? "Behold , I am the Lord , the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me ?"
5.It was after they mocked Jesus , the miracle took place , not before. Key , don't doubt , don't be discouraged because of your shame , but rather take advantage of your shame and become heavily pregnant with your miracle. be expectant. NB: verse 56 of the same chapter "And her parents were astonished". Men willbe astonished at you very soon , when you share your testimony in the name of Jesus ,Amen. so , " you don't ve a womb " "you ve sold your house" " you re broke" " you don't ve a husband/wife " "you can't make it" are all signs your miracle is about to happen !Amen. Don't give up!.1 Peter 4:12,13 (Msg)"12-13 Friends, when life gets really difficult, don’t jump to the conclusion that God isn’t on the job. Instead, be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced. This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the corner."
6.When they mock you is a sign God is already working behind the scenes to give you your testimony .Isaiah 45:15 (Msg)"Clearly, you are a God who works behind the scenes, God of Israel, Savior God."
7.key into this - your mockery has a way of drawing you closer to God . Why? If people could help you , why would they mock you ? .Is only God that can , Amen. Psalm 50:15(Msg)"And call for help when you’re in trouble— I’ll help you, and you’ll honor me.”
8.If you have not passed the test of your mockery , how can you pass the test of your blessings.If you are not humble with the little ones He has done for you , how will you be humbled with the big ones He will make happen in your life ? Luke 16:10(NLT)"“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. "
9.Your mockery has a way of boosting your prayer life. here is the key - if you can pray "very important " you can make heaven on earth to happen in your life . see this verse of scripture James 5:16(Amp)"The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]." That is what your shame/mockery can do to your prayer life because you want a change . Amen.
10.The area of your shame ,mockery is where God has choosen to bless you . How do I know this truth . Zep 3:19 says it "Behold, at that time I am going to deal With all your oppressors; I will save the lame and gather the scattered, And I will turn their shame into praise and renown In every land [where they have suffered]."
