LIFE LESSONS FROM THE BOOK OF JEREMIAH 29:11


"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."




10 KEYS ON HOW TO BLOCK EVIL THOUGHTS FROM ENTERING YOUR MIND.




1.Don't choose it - you cannot stop thoughts from coming into your mind , both good and bad ones, that is how God created man to function. But He gave us a choice to choose the kind of thoughts we allow into our minds . Joshua told the people to make a choice . So we have a choice to choose .Joshua 24:15 (NIV)"But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." Amen.key- choose good news , prosperity , good health when those those come . Amen.Remember Jesus in the book of John 10:10b
2.Faith - What is faith ? Allow me to define it my own way, so you can catch the mystery behind your mind-set ." Faith is a thought in your mind" . If you belief that thought which I call faith , it will produce the very thing you belief.And how do you use the thought of faith as a weapon , by using it to block the bad ones when they try to enter your mind . Eph 6:16 (NIV)"In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one."
3.Prayer - Activates the power of God residing in your mind and when it is effectively done , your mind is renewed and quickened to the voice of God . His thoughts come pouring down into your mind . David in the book of Psalm 139:17"How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! "
4.The force of joy - When your mind is filled with joy , it is hard for the enemy to send bad thoughts into your mind , And what activates the spirit of joy in your mind is the word . The more revelations of God's word you know , the more it stirs up the spirit of joy in you and were joy is you always find Him. Psalm 16:11 (NIV)"You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. "
5.Avoid worrying - key , worry will always produce negative thoughts in your mind . Why? you are not thinking in line with God's word . Roms 8:6 says it better "The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace."
6.The power of your eyes and ears - Whatever your eyes and ears see and hear it retains in your mind either good or bad. So what is the way out ? Deliberately choose not to allow the evil you see and hear to influence your thought pattern . bible says it all in the book of Prov 4:23 (ESV)"Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life."
7.Good books - good books has a way of influencing your thought pattern . your mind easily assimilate what you are reading and it ponders on it . now here is the key - you cannot ponder on two thoughts at the same time . one has to give way for the other to stay. bible says study to show thyself approved unto God . 2 Tim 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. "
8.Merry heart - Your mind works with your body mechanism . bad thoughts will produce bad results - depression , headache etc. so what do you deliberately choose to do ? keep a merry heart .Prov 17:22 (ESV)"A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."
9.Speaking in tongues - Is communicating the will of God with your mind and heart . When your mind is full with God's will . bad thoughts has not place to influence your thinking . 1 Cor 14:4a (NLT) " person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church."
10. Appreciation - Jesus said something in scripture , blessed is the man that have not seen but believes . John 20 :29 . When you appreciate God for the good thoughts you receive in your mind , He sends in more good thoughts , in that way shutting the bad ones off. Mark 4:24 (NLT) "Then he added, "Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given--and you will receive even more."
